Thomas Arndell (1824–1859)

This gentleman expired at his residence in Elgin-street, West Maitland, after a long and somewhat painful illness, on Saturday. Mr. Arndell had resided in this town for years previously, and was extensively and favourably known from his enterprising habits, strict integrity, and the unassuming, as well as uniform courtesy of his demeanour. The general esteem in which Mr. Arndell was held was testified by the very large attendance at his funeral on Sunday evening. We believe the attendance was larger than ever before seen on any similar occasion in Maitland.
