William Boyce (Jack) Allen (1848–1929)

Mr. William Boyce Allen, who died on Sunday evening last, was the youngest son of the Hon. Geo. Allen, M. L.C., of Toxteth Park, Glebe Point. He was born at Toxteth Park, on August 4, 1848. He was educated at Dr. Pendrlll's School and Newington College, on the Parramatta River.

For some years he was engaged in cattle raising in the then far-west of New South Wales and was in partnership with the late Mr Geo. Lloyd, in the year 1870. Later he returned to Sydney and became associated with Messrs. Mills and Pile, being one of the first sworn valuaters under the Real Property Act in the State. He married Adelaide Hamburger, who pre-deceased him by ten months, and he is survived by four daughters and two sons.
